Many studies have proved the connection between growth and economic development with investment. The experience of developed countries shows that the main driver of their economic growth was investment. Therefore, attracting investment is a major factor in economic prosperity and job creation in any country or region. Investment in each region is subject to economic and non-economic factors. Economic theories have described the role of economic factors in investing, while investment can be subordinated to a set of non-economic factors such as political, security, cultural, legal and other factors. These factors in each region can be different from other areas, even within a country. In the present research, non-economic barriers to investment attraction in Lorestan province have been investigated. This research was done by field method using a questionnaire and using the method of structural equation modeling with<strong> </strong>LISREL software. The results showed that security policy barriers with a coefficient of 0.99 had the most impact on non-attracting investment in Lorestan province and ranked first. In this regard, socio-cultural barriers and bureaucratic barriers are ranked second and third with coefficients of 0.80 and 0.72 respectively. Infrastructure barriers with coefficient of 0.53 and legal and judicial barriers with coefficient of 0.39 also have been effective in attracting investment in Lorestan province and they are effective in fourth and fifth rankings.
